purpleSTARS Advisory Group, see picture below, have been attending the Wolfson Project advisory group sessions at the British Museum during 2017-18. The purpose of Advisory Group was explore different ways in which we can access the collection e.g. storytelling, music, discussion etc. Also, to consider practicalities like; how individuals learn about events that take place at Museums and Galleries; when might be the best time/day of the week for events; what challenges they might face in terms of access and how this can be addressed etc. More sessions are planned over the next few years.
As part of the Wolfson Advisory Group purpleSTARS worked with Orlagh and Olivia to facilitate a story telling session and exhibited our Sensory Labels first developed in the Enlightenment Gallery in 2015.

Below is a video where Judith and Adelina showcase their Sensory Labels.
The picture below shows members of the Sensory Objects team showing their sensory label boxes after being awarded the International Access for All Design Trophy for their Sensory Labels.

We were given an introduction to the Wolfson Project by the Programme Manager Orlagh Muldoon. We met members from other disability groups including Corali Dance Company, Action Space and Heart n Soul
Storyteller Olivia Armstrong and Musician Luke Crookes gave us demonstrations of their sessions which the purpleSTARS Advisory Group really enjoyed.
