purpleSTARS Judge Art for Research Reading Competition raising money for Cancer Research.

purpleSTARS have been invited to judge a new competition Art For Research Reading (formerly Young Art Reading) a new local community art competition and exhibition showcasing the creativity of Reading’s children and young people while raising money for Cancer Research UK’s Children & Young People campaign. The theme for the competition is ‘My Reading’, open to all schools across Berkshire. purpleSTARS from the Tower Project Judith Appiah and Kate Allen University of Reading joined illustrator Garry Parsons and curator Kathleen Soriano to form the judging panel, you can read more about the judging panel HERE.

Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic the exhibition and prize giving in the University of Reading’s Great Hall on the 20th March 2020 was postponed. The prize giving was transformed into a video that was shown to all the schools who entered the competition, you can see the video of prize giving, the judges and winners art work below.
